Eggless French Toast Vegan

This is a simple recipe for an eggless vegan french toast. People have told me, it is as good as the one with eggs in it.

  1. French Baguette (homemade or bought)
  2. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  3. ¼ cup maple syrup (optional)
  4. 2 tablespoon corn starch
  5. 6 tablespoon chick pea flour (besan)
  6. 1 ½ cups soy milk or almond milk or normal milk
  7. ½ cup finely chopped pecan nuts


  1. Cut the baguette into 1 inch thick slices (cut about 12 slices).
  2. Pour the milk into a bowl, add the cinnamon, maple syrup, corn starch and chick pea flour.
  3. Blend together so there are no lumps.
  4. Heap up a frying pan and grease with butter.
  5. Dip a few slices of baguette into the batter and place into the frying pan.
  6. Cook for about five minutes, then turn over and fry.
  7. While the other side is frying, place some chopped pecan nuts on the fried side.
  8. Transfer onto a plate and serve with maple syrup.
